How It Happened
Philadelphia led majority of the game but despite not controlling the lead Holy Family stayed within one or two possessions of the Rams early on in the contest.  It wasn't until the midway point that Philadelphia began pulling away.  Freshman Sean Griffin (Abington, Pa./philmont Christian) put the Tigers within one point with a layup score at the 9:06 mark of the first half that made the score 22-21.

Philadelphia countered with an 11-2 run over the next three-plus minutes to mount its first double-digit lead. Malcolm Gilbert capped the rally with a dunk to give the Rams a 33-23 lead with 5:43 left until halftime. By the close of the half the Tigers decreased the Rams' lead and trailed 39-33 entering the locker rooms at halftime.

In the second half the Tigers cut the lead down to four points within the first two minutes at 41-37 but the Rams responded and increased their lead back to double-digits.  In fact, Philadelphia led by as many as 17 points on two occasions with the latter coming at the 9:23 mark (65-48).

The Tigers seemed at times like they were going to make a run and cut the lead down to single digits but each time Holy Family appeared to be on the verge of putting something together the Rams responded with baskets of their own. In the final seven minutes alone the Tigers cut the lead down to 12-points or less but each time the Rams countered to keep the home squad from advancing any further.
