How It Happened

* It all came down to one final set in which Caldwell opened with a 7-1 run and appeared to be on its way to victory.  However, Holy Family came away with five straight points to cut the score to 7-6.  The Cougars bounced back scoring four of the next five points to increase their lead to 11-7.  As the set progressed Holy Family faced match point with Caldwell leading 14-10.  The Tigers capitalized on three straight attack errors by the Cougars followed by a kill from junior Jaime Bonner (Warminster, Pa./William Tennent) to tie the set at 14-14.  From there the score would be tied two more times before Caldwell grabbed a 17-16 lead.  Facing match point once more the Tigers tied the set thanks to a kill by freshman Carly Covington (Delmar, Md./Delmar).  A bad set by Caldwell would follow and then an attack error by the Cougars on the following possession sealed the victory for the Tigers at 19-17.

* Holy Family opened the match as sharp on offense as the Tigers tallied 19 kills in the first set alone.  The Tigers finished the match with 63 total kills tying the team's season-high.
