Tigers Dominate Caldwell on Record Setting Day



Philadelphia, Pa. - Seniors Nicole Braungart (Medford, N.J./Bishop Eustace) and Erin Harmer (Philadelphia, Pa./Nazareth Academy) each recorded their 100th career goals as the Holy Family University women's lacrosse team defeated Caldwell University, 22-6, in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) contest on Tuesday afternoon at Tiger Field.

How It Happened
Holy Family scored the game's first five goals over a seven-minute span and never looked back.  Caldwell came within four goals of the Tigers lead when the Cougars scored their first goal but from that point on the Tigers had full control of the game.
 
Holy Family went on to lead 13-3 by halftime and held Caldwell scoreless nearly the entire second half until under the six-minute mark.  The Tigers scored the first nine goals of the second half to lead by as many as 19 goals with a 22-3 score.
 
Record Breaking Day
A number of records and milestones were reached today as Braungart and Harmer became the seventh and eighth players in program history to reach the 100-goal milestone.  Braungart, who finished the game with three goals, tallied career goal number 100 at the 22:48 mark of the second half.  Less than a minute later, she came through with goal 101.  Harmer entered the game with 91 career goals and exited the game with milestone goal number 100.  She recorded her 100th goal with 11:08 to play in regulation to finish with nine goals to go along with two assists for 11 points.  As a result, her nine goals and 11 points set new single game program records.
 
Furthermore, senior Paige reached a milestone as well as she became just the second player in program history to record 200 career points. Settar finished the game with two goals and two assists for four points and now has 202 for her career.  She currently trails Stephanie McNesby by nine points for the program's all-time mark of 211.

Holy Family: As mentioned, Harmer led all scorers with 11 points (9G/2A) as five different players recorded multple goals in the game… Freshmen Vanessa Pagliei (Linwood, N.J./Mainland Regional) and Devon Felix (Huntingdon Valley, Pa./Lower Moreland) finished with three and two goals respectively… Junior Ursula Coyle (Philadelphia, Pa./Little Flower) picked up a season-high seven ground balls and caused two turnovers… Junior Kacie Booth (Maple Shade, N.J./Maple Shade) finished with four ground balls and caused three turnovers… Braungart led the game with 10 draw controls as Holy Family denied Caldwell the draw controlling 22 of the 29 attempts…Senior Grace Deckert (Jarrettsville, Md./Fallston) finished with 11 saves in net off 20 shots by the Cougars.
 
Caldwell: Sophomore Mariah Wynn led Caldwell with three goals on the afternoon and also with four draw controls… freshman Rachel Lucia tallied two goals while sophomore Emily Fey scored one goal…Lucia also led the team with five ground balls and two caused turnovers. 
 
Playoff Picture
With the win today, Holy Family is now tied for fourth in the CACC standings with Georgian Court University.  Caldwell is currently third and has already clinched a spot in next week's conference tournament. The Tigers could clinch a spot for themselves with a win on Saturday pending outcomes of other conference games.

Holy Family is back in action on Saturday, April 23 as the Tigers travel to face Nyack College in a CACC contest. Game time is slated for 1 p.m.
