Philadelphia, Pa. - Senior Paige Settar (Mullica Hill, N.J./Clearview Regional) and sophomore Rose Bachmayer (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Ryan) each scored a game-high four goals as the Holy Family University women's lacrosse team defeated Dominican College by the score of 17-6 in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) contest on Monday afternoon at Tiger Field.

How It Happened
After Dominican tied the game at 1-1 at the 23:33 mark of the first half, Holy Family fired off seven straight goals over the next 19 minutes to take full control of the game.  Bachmayer along with senior Nicole Braungart (Medford, N.J./Bishop Eustace) each tallied a pair of goals during the scoring surge.
 
Bachmayer capped the run with 4:38 to play until halftime as Holy Family led 8-1.  Dominican ended its scoring drought of 20 minutes with a goal from junior Katie Dascher (3:09). The Tigers tacked on one final score by Settar with :32 seconds remaining on the clock to lead 9-2 entering halftime.
 
Holy Family continued its offensive attack into the second half by scoring the first six goals and as a result increased its lead to 15-2 by the midway point.  Dominican finally scored its first goal of the second half at the 12:49 mark with an unassisted score by junior Shayne Gallagher.
 
Holy Family finished the game with 40 shots and held Dominican to just 19 shots; 11 of which were on goal.  The Tigers also held the edge on ground balls (39-26) and on the draw (13-12).

Holy Family: Bachmayer recorded a game-high five points on the afternoon with four goals and one assist… She also picked up three ground balls… Settar totaled four goals to go along with five ground balls and four draw controls… Senior Erin Harmer (Philadelphia, Pa./Nazareth Academy) added three goals and four ground balls, while freshman Dana Trevito (Voorhees, N.J./Eastern Regional) contributed three scores and two ground balls… Senior Ursula Coyle (Philadelphia, Pa./Little Flower) picked up five ground balls and caused three turnovers on defense… Junior Kacie Booth (Maple Shade, N.J./Maple Shade) led the game with seven ground balls to go along with two caused turnovers… Braungart finished the game with seven draw controls while scoring two goals and picking up four ground balls…Senior Grace Deckert (Jarrettsville, Md./Fallston) made four saves in net in 48:30 minutes of work, while sophomore Amber Frechette (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Ryan) closed out the game and made one stop. 
 
Dominican: Senior Christina Brennan led the Chargers with five points after totaling three goals and two assists…. Brennan also added three ground balls and controlled one draw…Sophomore Cara Moran led the team with four ground balls and controlled four draws… Sophomore Joanna Napolitano picked up three ground balls and caused two turnovers… Senior goalkeeper Brittany Kiernan finished the day with 14 saves in net.
 
All-Time Series
Holy Family picked up the victory in the 12th meeting all-time versus Dominican.  The Tigers are now 8-4 all-time against the Chargers and increased their winning streak to seven straight victories.
 
Making History
Settar is inching closer to the program's all-time goals mark.  With her four goals today versus the Chargers, she now has 162 career goals; four shy of tying Gina Mansi's all-time record of 166.  Settar is also moving in on the all-time points record with 187 career points.  She currently sits third all-time behind Brianna Lancetta (Marlton, N.J./Bishop Eustace) (188) and Stephanie McNesby (211).
 
Next Up
Holy Family returns to action on Wednesday, April 13 as the Tigers host Post University in a CACC contest. Game time is slated for 4 p.m. at Tiger Field.
