How We Got Here
Southern New Hampshire rode the hot hand of senior Rodney Sanders who scored a game-high 30 points.  Sanders tallied 19 of his game-high in the first half as the Penmen used a 23-6 run to take control of the game.  In fact, Sanders capped the run with a three-pointer at the nine-minute mark to increase the Penmen lead to 23-9.

Southern New Hampshire took advantage of the Tigers' slow start holding Holy Family to just 25.9-percent shooting in the first 20-minutes.  Holy Family, a team known for its long-distance threat, connected on just 4-of-15 from deep range in the opening half.

When the first half was all said and done, the Penmen entered halftime leading 44-24.

In the second half, the Penmen led by as many as 21 points before the first media timeout.  A jumper by junior Devin Gilligan made the score, 49-28.

The Tigers found themselves down 21 with 5:32 remaining in regulation.  Over the next 2:17 minutes, Holy Family deflated the Penmen lead down to single digits.  Senior Derrick Stewart (Philadelphia, Pa./Neumann-Goretti) split a pair of free throws which made the score 76-68 with 3:15 to play.

Southern New Hampshire scored the game's next four points via the free throw line to increase its lead back to double-digits before senior Marvin Crawford (Edison, N.J./J.P. Stevens) came through with a clutch three-pointer brought the score back down to single digits.  Crawford was the Tigers' leading scorer with a season-high 27 points on 10-of-19 shooting.

On the ensuing possession the Penmen struck right back as junior Jerome Harris connected on a three of his own to make the score 83-71.  Southern New Hampshire increased its lead to 14 points with a minute to play.  Holy Family came within single digits once more when Crawford threw down a monster dunk but time was against the Tigers with only seven seconds remaining in regulation.

What Now?!
Southern New Hampshire will now face fourth-seeded Stonehill College in the East Region semifinals on Sunday night (7:30 p.m.).  The Skyhawks defeated fifth-seeded Bentley University, 78-62, to reach the semifinals.  Southern New Hampshire's victory marked the first time in the history of the East Regional that a No. 8 seed defeated a top-seed in the tournament.

A Season to Remember
Holy Family capped the 2015-16 season at 26-6 setting a new program record for most wins in a season since joining Division II in 2003-04.  The Tigers also became the first Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) team to receive the number one seed and host the East Regional.  In addition, Holy Family claimed its first CACC Tournament Title in program history last week.

All-Time in the NCAA Tournament
Holy Family was appearing in its second NCAA Tournament and the first since 2008 when the team received an at-large bid. The Tigers are now 0-2 all-time in tournament play.
