How it Happened
Holy Family grabbed the first set and never looked back in the match.  The Tigers led the entire first set with their biggest lead coming after an attack error by the Warriors that made the score 16-7. Sophomores Chase Wassel (North Wales, Pa./Lansdale Catholic) and Candyce Riley (Horsham, Pa./Hatboro-Horsham) combined for 12 kills in the first set.  Riley totaled seven while Wassel finished with five kills in the set.

The second set turned out to be closer later on in the set.  The Tigers held a comfortable 19-13 lead late in the set before Nyack tied the set at 23-23 after five straight points.  However, the rally was short lived as Wassel recorded back-to-back kills to close out the set and give the Tigers a 25-23 victory and a 2-0 match lead.

Holy Family went on to clinch the match with a 25-16 victory in the third set.  Trailing 10-9, Holy Family scored four straight points to grab the lead back at 13-10.  Three attack errors by the Warriors after freshman Gianna Pesognelli (Phoenix, Ariz./Pinnacle) recorded a kill fueled the rally.  The Tigers would then tally five straight points to grab a 19-13 lead and closed out the match scoring six of the final nine points, including a match point kill from Riley.
