Lakewood, N.J. - The Holy Family University softball team's quest for a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) championship came to an end after falling to Bloomfield College by the score of 4-3 on day two of the conference tournament on Friday afternoon.  Georgian Court University served as host of the tournament.

Holy Family concludes its season at 19-15 overall.

Sophomore Kirsten Wils delivered a two-run single in the top half of the seventh inning to give Bloomfield its first lead of the game as the Bears took a 4-3 advantage.

With two outs to start the inning, the Bears kept the inning alive with an infield single by sophomore Aubrey Orr followed by a walk by junior Janese Timmons before Wils' single to center field.

In the bottom of the inning, Wils allowed a one-out single to junior Alexis Daubert (Stratford, N.J./Sterling) before striking out the final two batters to seal the victory.

Holy Family grabbed the first lead of the game scoring a pair of runs in the bottom of the third.  Sophomore Brianna Scotto (West Babylon, N.Y./West Babylon) led the inning off with a solo home run to center field to give the Tigers a 1-0 lead.  It marked Scotto's fourth homer of the season setting a new career-high.

The Holy Family offense then came through with back-to-back singles by freshman Koreen Orozco (Whittier, Calif./St. Paul) and Alyssa Cudeyro (Sicklerville, N.J./Washington Twp.) to set up a potential big inning for the Tigers.  Two batters later, freshman Jenna Vasquez (Newark, Del./Caravel Academy) was hit by a pitch to load the bases.

The Tigers plated their next run after freshman Jennifer Trapp (Castle Rock, Colo./Douglas County) hit a sacrifice fly to right field to score pinch runner, freshman Tori Hernandez (Benton, Ark./Bryant), to double the lead at 2-0.

Holy Family tacked on another run in the bottom of the fifth inning after Bloomfield tied the game at 2-2 in the top half of the inning.  With Cudeyro on third, Vasquez dropped down a bunt that gave Cudeyro plenty of time to score to give the Tigers a 3-2 lead.

Scotto finished the game a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate to go along with one run and one RBI.

Orozco (7-3) received the loss after going the distance for the Tigers.  She allowed four runs (2 earned) on nine hits and two walks.  Orozco also struck out two batters.

Sophomore Stephanie Miller picked up the win for the Bears after coming in for three innings of relief work.  Miller allowed one run on three hits.
