Philadelphia, Pa. - The Holy Family University women's volleyball team shutdown visiting Concordia College by the score of 3-0 in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) contest on Saturday afternoon at the Campus Center Gymnasium.Â

Holy Family snaps its three-match losing streak with the victory to improve to 5-8 overall and 2-2 in conference action. Concordia is now 0-4 overall and 0-4 in the CACC.Â

Holy Family took all three sets by nearly double-digit margins. The Tigers opened the match with a 25-16 victory and then went on to win set two and three by the scores of 25-11 and 25-14 respecitvely.

Sophomore
Rachel Johnson (New Lenox, Ill./Lincoln Way West) led the match with 10 kills to lead the Tigers' attack offense. She also contributed six digs and two block assists. Senior
Sarah Ambach (Springboro, Ohio/Springboro) and sophomore
Charlotte Sabatano (Fredrick, Md./Gov. Thomas Johnson) each added seven kills, while sophomore
Emma Herring (Newtown, Conn./Newtown) finished with six kills. Herring also led the match with five service aces, which tied her season-high.

Senior
Chelsea Keegan (Bucyrus, Ohio/Colonel Crawford) paced the offense with a match-high 23 set assists to go along with six digs, while junior
Devyn Ingram (King of Prussia, Pa./Upper Merion) tallied a team-best eight digs on the defensive side. Ingram also had four set assists.

For Concordia, three players led the team with six kills apiece on the offensive front. Seniors Hillary Hoffman and Irina Impellittiere along with freshman Victoria Carpenter all had six kills in the match. Impellittiere also added a match-high 10 digs on the defensive side. Senior Brittany Chappas finished with eight digs, while fellow classmate Alicia Vogel led the Clippers with 17 set assists to go along with five digs.

Holy Family is back in action on Tuesday, Oct. 1 as the Tigers host Goldey-Beacom College in a CACC contest. Match time is slated for 7 p.m.
