Tigers Take Care of Bloomfield, 3-0, on Senior Day

Philadelphia, Pa. - The Holy Family University women's volleyball team made quick work of Bloomfield College as the Tigers came away with a 3-0 victory in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) contest on Saturday afternoon at the Campus Center Gymnasium on Senior Day.
 
Holy Family improves to 14-13 overall and 10-7 in the CACC, while Bloomfield falls to 5-21 overall and 5-12 in conference action.  With the victory, the Tigers maintain their one game lead over the University of the Sciences (9-8 CACC) for the fourth and final postseason spot in the CACC South Division. 
 
Holy Family defeated Bloomfield by the scores of 25-22, 25-19 and 25-21.
 
Prior to the start of the match, Holy Family along with the women's volleyball team, recognized seniors Sarah Ambach (Springboro, Ohio/Springboro) and Chelsea Keegan (Bucyrus, Ohio/Colonel Crawford) in a pre-match ceremony as part the 'Senior Day' festivities.
 
Keegan filled the stat sheet with 36 set assists as she surpassed 1,000 assists in a single season for the second time in her career.  She entered the match with 988 assists and concluded the match with 1,024.  Keegan first recorded 1,000-plus assists in a single season during her sophomore season with a career-high 1,194.   She currently ranks second all-time in program history with 3,053 career assists.
 
Sophomore Emma Herring (Newtown, Conn./Newtown) led the Tigers' attack in the victory with 14 kills to go along with an impressive .407 attack percentage.  Herring was also one of three players to record three service aces in the match for the Tigers.
 
Sophomore Charlotte Sabatano (Fredrick, Md./Gov. Thomas Johnson) finished with nine kills, six digs and three service aces, while fellow classmate Rachel Johnson (New Lenox, Ill./Lincoln Way West) added seven kills, six digs and three service aces.
 
Ambach finished the afternoon with eight kills and a block assist, while junior Devyn Ingram (King of Prussia, Pa./Upper Merion) led the team with seven digs.  Redshirt freshman Erin Miller (Chandler, Ariz. /Corona del sol) chipped in four kills and had a block assist on defense.
 
For Bloomfield, freshman Ashley Wright led the Deacons with nine kills after hitting .333-percent.  She also added nine defensive digs and had five block assists.  Freshman Elizabeth Meyer also had five block assists to go along with one solo block in the contest. 
 
Freshmen Paolo Acosta and Juliette Monroy each tallied a match-high ten digs. Freshman Jacquelyn Madlock filled the stat sheet with five kills, 19 set assists and five digs.
 
Holy Family is back in action on Wednesday, Nov. 6 as the Tigers travel to face Chestnut Hill College in a CACC contest.  Match time is slated for 7 p.m.
