Sarah Ambach (Springboro, Ohio/Springboro) tallied nine kills as she became the third player in program history to reach the 1,000 career kill milestone as the Holy Family University women's volleyball team shutdown Dominican College by the score of 3-0 in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) contest on Saturday afternoon at the Hennessy Center.

Holy Family, winners of three straight matches, improves to 13-12 overall and 9-6 in the CACC, while Dominican is now 5-20 overall and 5-10 in conference play. This past week, Holy Family has defeated three conference opponents without dropping a single set. Furthermore, the Tigers are over .500 for the first time this season.Â

Holy Family won the match by the scores of 25-22, 25-12 and 25-15.

Ambach entered the match with 999 career kills and wasted no time recording career kill number 1,000. In the first set, Ambach scored the matches' first point with a kill right off the bat.  She finished with the match with nine kills and currently has 1,008 career kills. She joins former Holy Family standouts Jennifer O'Connor (1,398/2005-08) and Jillian Keeve (1,299/2008-2011) as the only players in program history to reach the 1,000 kill milestone.Â

Sophomore
Rachel Johnson (New Lenox, Ill./Lincoln Way West) led the match with 13 kills as she was one of three players on the Holy Family roster than recorded double-digit kills. Johnson also tied junior
Devyn Ingram (King of Prussia, Pa./Upper Merion) with a match-high 13 digs on the defensive end.

Sophomores
Emma Herring (Newtown, Conn./Newtown) and
Charlotte Sabatano (Fredrick, Md./Gov. Thomas Johnson) each tallied 11 kills and had two service aces in the victory. Senior
Chelsea Keegan (Bucyrus, Ohio/Colonel Crawford) finished with a match-high 39 set-assists.Â

For Dominican, senior Randi Garrett led the team with seven kills, while sophomore Tori Dexter contributed five kills and ten digs. Freshman Angela Kim led the Chargers with 11 digs.

Holy Family is back in action on Wednesday, Oct. 30 as the Tigers host cross-town rival Philadelphia University in a CACC contest. Match time is slated for 7 p.m.
