Philadelphia, Pa. - The Holy Family University women's volleyball team picked up a key Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) contest over visiting Georgian Court University by the score of 3-0 on Thursday night at the Campus Center Gymnasium.

Holy Family improves to 12-12 overall and 8-6 in the CACC, while Georgian Court is now 11-11 overall and 9-3 in conference action. The Tigers won the match by the score of 25-20, 25-21 and 25-23.

The Tigers showed off their skills in front of the university faculty, as it was 'Faculty Appreciation Night' at the Campus Center. In between the second and third sets, the athletics department along with the faculty, recognized academic achievement by the student-athletes from the previous academic year. Furthermore, the new fan organization 'Blue Crew' debuted tonight as they created a loud supportive atmosphere for the Tigers.

Sophomores
Emma Herring (Newtown, Conn./Newtown) and
Rachel Johnson (New Lenox, Ill./Lincoln Way West) led the Holy Family offense as they combined for 27 kills. Herring finished with a match-high 14 kills to go along with three service aces and seven digs. Johnson tallied 13 kills after recording a match-high .579 attack percentage.Â

Sarah Ambach (Springboro, Ohio/Springboro) contributed nine kills with an attack percentage of .368. With her nine kills, Ambach will enter her next match one kill shy of becoming just the third player in program history to reach the 1,000-kill milestone.Â

Chelsea Keegan (Bucyrus, Ohio/Colonel Crawford) paced the offense with 38 set assists to go along with six digs. Junior
Devyn Ingram (King of Prussia, Pa./Upper Merion) led the team with nine digs.Â

For Georgian Court, junior Anabelle Barinas led the Lions with 11 kills and an attack percentage of .440. Redshirt junior Tatiana Villariny finished with seven kills, while junior Jhoan Agosto Rivera added five kills.

Redshirt junior Jaslene Lopez finished with a team-high 19 set assists, while freshman Kelsey Oliver added seven assists. Redshirt junior Francheska Cedres led the team with nine digs.Â

Holy Family is back in action on Saturday, Oct. 26 as the Tigers travel to face Dominican College in a CACC contest. Match time is slated for 12 p.m.
