Women’s Volleyball Picks Up 3-2 Victory Over Georgian Court

Philadelphia, Pa. - The Holy Family University women's volleyball team battled to a 3-2 victory over Georgian Court University in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) contest Tuesday night at the Campus Center.

With the win Holy Family evens its record at 9-9 overall and improves to 6-0 in conference play, while Georgian Court is now 5-11 overall and 4-4 in the CACC.

Holy Family jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead in the match after taking the first two sets by the scores of 25-19 and 25-22 respectively.  However, Georgian Court rallied and took set three by the score of 25-20 and then tied the match with a victory in set four (25-21).  Despite the comeback, Holy Family managed to pull out the victory with a 15-13 win in the fifth and decisive set. 

Senior Jillian Keeve (La Grange, Ill./Lyons Twp.) and sophomore Sarah Ambach (Springboro, Ohio/Springboro) combined for 23 kills to lead the Holy Family attack.  Keeve finished with a team-high 13 kills to go along with nine digs, while Ambach tallied ten kills and an attack percentage of .526.  Junior Cara Przybylowicz (Ridley Park, Pa./Ridley) contributed seven kills in the victory

Sophomore Chelsea Keegan (Bucyrus, Ohio/Colonel Crawford) had 36 assists and seven digs, while junior Mackenzie Bickes (Orchard Lake, Mich./Mercy) had 15 digs.  Senior Jordan Beland (Shrewsbury, Pa./Susquehannock) finished with a team-best 19 digs for the Tigers.

For Georgian Court, freshman Tatiana Villariny finished with a match-high 18 kills to lead the Lions.  Freshman Jaslene Lopez finished with 32 assists and seven digs. 

Holy Family is back in action on Thursday, Sept. 29 as the Tigers travel to face Chestnut Hill College in a CACC contest.  Match time is slated for 7 p.m.
