Women’s Volleyball Defeats Chestnut Hill; Ties Program Record for Wins in Season

Philadelphia, Pa. - The Holy Family University women's volleyball team defeated Chestnut Hill College in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) contest in three sets Tuesday afternoon at the Campus Center.
 
Holy Family, winners of ten straight and 18 of its last 19, improves to 23-10 overall and finishes conference play with an 18-1 mark.  With the win, the Tigers tied the program record for most wins in a season with 23.  Holy Family finished the 2008 season with a 23-14 record.  Chestnut Hill is now 13-18 overall and concludes conference play with an 8-11 record.
 
Holy Family swept the match as the Tigers took the first set by the score of 25-19.  The Tigers then followed with a 25-21 victory in set two and a 25-15 win in set number three to complete the 3-0 sweep.
 
Sophomore Sarah Ambah finished the match with a team-high nine kills to go along with a .471 attack percentage.  Junior Cara Przybylowicz (Ridley Park, Pa./Ridley) tallied eight kills and five digs, while senior Alyssa Keihl (Pewaukee, Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran) came through with seven kills and three service aces.  Sophomore Chelsea Keegan (Bucyrus, Ohio/Colonel Crawford) had a match-high 33 set assists to go along with ten digs.   Senior Rebecca Tett (Leesburg, Va./Notre Dame Academy) contributed six kills and finished with three block assists.
 
For Chestnut Hill, Alex DePalma led the team with seven kills and eight digs, while Cassie Benson finished with six kills and two total blocks.  Courtney Gallo had 14 set assists.
 
Holy Family is back in action on Tuesday, Nov. 8 as the Tigers host a CACC quarterfinal match.  The Tigers sealed the number one seed in the South Division and will face the number four seed from the North Division.  Game time and opponent are still to be determined.
