Philadelphia, Pa. - The Holy Family University women's volleyball won its fifth straight match and 13
th in its last 14 contests after defeating Concordia College in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) contest by the score of 3-0 Saturday afternoon at the Campus Center.
Holy Family improves to 18-10 overall and 15-1 in conference play, while Concordia drops to 5-17 overall and 5-11 in the CACC. With the victory, Holy Family clinches at least a share of the CACC South Division Regular Season title. The Tigers currently hold a 3.5 game lead over Wilmington University in the standings. If the Wildcats lose to Nyack College this afternoon, then Holy Family will win the division title outright.
Holy Family quickly mounted a lead in the first set and continued to cruise to the 3-0 victory. The Tigers won set one by the score of 25-15 and followed with a 25-17 victory in set two. Holy Family clinched the match with a 25-11 win in the third set.
Senior
Jillian Keeve (La Grange, Ill./Lyons Twp.) led the Holy Family attack with a match-high seven kills. She recorded an attack percentage of .429 to go along with 11 set assists and seven service aces. Freshman
Devyn Ingram (King of Prussia, Pa./Upper Merion) finished with five kills, four digs and four service aces, while junior
Cara Przybylowicz (Ridley Park, Pa./Ridley) came through with six kills and eight digs. Junior
Mackenzie Bickes (Orchard Lake, Mich./Mercy) finished with a team-best 14 set assists to go along with two service aces and five digs.
For Concordia, juniors Courtney Hanson and Juliann Gillespie combined for ten kills to lead the Clippers attack. Sophomore Hillary Hoffman finished with 13 set assists, while fellow classmate tallied seven digs and three service aces.
Holy Family is back in action on Tuesday, Oct. 25 as the Tigers host Wilmington in a CACC contest. Match time is slated for 7 p.m.
