Women’s Volleyball Completes Season Sweep of Georgian Court

Lakewood, N.J. - The Holy Family University women's volleyball team picked up its third victory over Georgian Court University this season with a 3-1 triumph in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) contest Tuesday night at the Wellness Center.
 
Holy Family, winners of 11 of its last 12 contests, improves to 16-10 overall and 13-1 in conference play, while Georgian Court drops to 7-18 overall and 6-8 in the CACC.
 
Both teams split the first two sets of the match with Holy Family taking set one by the score of 25-16 and Georgian Court winning a tight 25-23 set two.  Holy Family would take a 2-1-match advantage with a 25-12 victory in set three.  The Tigers then followed with a 25-17 win in set four to clinch the 3-1-match victory.
 
Sophomore Sarah Ambach (Springboro, Ohio/Springboro) tallied a team-high nine kills and finished with an attack percentage of .261 in the victory.  Senior Rebecca Tett (Leesburg, Va./Notre Dame Academy) added eight kills and a .286 attack percentage while also recording two block assists. 
 
Senior Jillian Keeve (La Grange, Ill./Lyons Twp.) came through with five kills and a team-best 14 digs, while fellow classmate Jordan Beland (Shrewsbury, Pa./Susquehannock) recorded 12 digs for the Tigers.  Sophomore Chelsea Keegan (Bucyrus, Ohio/Colonel Crawford) finished with 24 set assists to go along with three kills and five digs.  Freshman Devyn Ingram (King of Prussia, Pa./Upper Merion) added 12 defensive digs and two block assists.
 
For Georgian Court, Amy Berry led the way with a match-high 13 kills.  She finished with a .269 attack percentage and also tallied eight digs.  Jaslene Lopez had 28 set assists, while Francheska Cedres led the team with 11 digs. 
 
Holy Family is back in action on Thursday, Oct. 20 as the Tigers host Goldey-Beacom College in a CACC contest.  Game time is slated for 7 p.m.
