Philadelphia, Pa. - The Holy Family University women's volleyball team defeated Bloomfield College by the score of 3-0 in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) contest Saturday afternoon at the Campus Center.
Holy Family improves to 15-10 overall and 12-1 in conference play, while Bloomfield drops to 6-11 overall and 5-9 in CACC action.
Holy Family won the first set by the score of 25-17 and then took the next two sets by double-digit margins. The Tigers won set two by the score of 25-10 and then clinched the match with a 25-12 win in set three.
Senior
Jillian Keeve (La Grange, Ill./Lyons Twp.) recorded a match-high ten kills to lead the Holy Family attack. She also had three digs and one service ace. Fellow classmate
Rebecca Tett (Leesburg, Va./Notre Dame Academy) and sophomore
Sarah Ambach (Springboro, Ohio/Springboro) combined for 14 kills and committed only one error between them. Tett finished with seven kills and an attack percentage of .545, while Ambach tallied seven kills and attack percentage of .500. Ambach also had four total blocks (1BS/3BA).
Sophomore
Chelsea Keegan (Bucyrus, Ohio/Colonel Crawford) recorded 31 set assists to go along with six digs. Junior
Jordan Beland (Shrewsbury, Pa./Susquehannock) had a match-high 17 digs and also tallied three set assists. Freshman
Devyn Ingram (King of Prussia, Pa./Upper Merion) recorded three service aces, while collecting three kills and five digs.
For Bloomfield, junior Da'Cheray Thomas led the team with seven kills to go along with three digs. Fellow classmate Clodesh Marie Montano tallied four kills and seven digs, while junior Allison Hart had 13 set assists to go along with seven digs.
Holy Family is back in action on Tuesday, Oct. 18 as the Tigers travel to face Georgian Court University in a CACC contest. Match time is slated for 7 p.m.
