Women’s Volleyball Makes it Six Straight With Win Over Dominican

Orangeburg, N.Y. - The Holy Family University women's volleyball team recorded its sixth straight win as the Tigers defeated Dominican College, 3-1, in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) contest Saturday afternoon.
 
Holy Family, winners of ten of its last 11 matches, improves to 11-9 overall and 8-0 in the CACC, while Dominican is now 8-9 overall and 5-2 in conference play.
 
Holy Family dropped the first set by the score of 25-23, however the Tigers bounced back and won the next three sets to win the match, 3-1.  Holy Family won set two by the score of 25-18 and took sets three and four by the scores of 26-24 and 25-17 respectively.
 
Sophomore Sarah Ambach (Springboro, Ohio/Springboro) led the Holy Family attack with a team-high 13 kills.  She also had an attack percentage of .393 as she committed only two errors throughout the match.  Senior Jillian Keeve (La Grange, Ill./Lyons Twp.) tallied eight kills and a team-high 14 digs.  Junior Mackenzie Bickes (Orchard Lake, Mich./Mercy) and junior Jordan Beland (Shrewsbury, Pa./Susquehannock) each tallied 14 digs as well. 
 
Senior Alyssa Keihl (Pewaukee, Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran) had seven kills, while sophomore Chelsea Keegan (Bucyrus, Ohio/Colonel Crawford) contributed five kills and 29 assists.  Freshman Devyn Ingram (King of Prussia, Pa./Upper Merion) had four kills and 13 digs in the victory.
 
For Dominican, junior Michelle Fiorvanti had a match-high 15 kills to go along with nine digs.  Freshman Kayla Dexter finished with 11 kills, while junior Courtney Heard contributed ten kills.  Junior Whitney Ranger had a match-best 44 assists.
 
Holy Family is back in action on Tuesday, Oct. 4 as the Tigers travel to Wilmington University for a CACC contest.  Match time is slated for 7 p.m.
