Lakewood, N.J. - The Holy Family University women's volleyball team defeated Bloomfield College, 3-0, in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Semifinals Friday night at Georgian Court University to advance to the CACC Tournament Final.
The Tigers are advancing to the championship round for the first time since 2007.
Holy Family, seeded first in the South Division, improves to 21-9 overall after winning its 12th straight match. Bloomfield concludes its season at 11-16 overall.
The Tigers cruised to a quick 25-15 victory in the first set to take advantage early in the match. The momentum continued into the second set as Holy Family picked up a 25-18 victory. The Tigers went on to seal the match by taking set three by the score of 25-13.
Junior
Jillian Keeve (La Grange, Ill./Lyons Twp.) led the way for the Tigers with a match-high in kills (12) and digs (11). Fellow classmate Rebecca Tett (Leesburg, Va./Notre Dame Academy) added nine kills, while Alyssa Keihl (Pewaukee, Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran) and sophomore Cara Przybylowicz (Ridley Park, Pa./Ridley) each added six kills apiece.
Senior Aimee Drabyn (Avon, Ind./Avon) had a match-best 34 assists, while also collecting four digs for Holy Family. Freshman Chelsea Keegan (Bucyrus, Ohio/Colonel Crawford) record double-figures in digs with ten.
For Bloomfield, sophomore Gabriella Betoni had a team-high 11 assists and eight digs. Seniors Uerequenia Pereira and Evelyn Ferreira each had three kills and eight digs for the Deacons.
Holy Family will face Caldwell College, the top seed in the North Division, in the CACC Tournament Final Saturday at 1 p.m. at Georgian Court University. The Cougars defeated Philadelphia University, 3-1, in the other semifinal match.
The season series between Holy Family and Caldwell is tied 1-1 as the Cougars are the last team to defeat the Tigers prior to their 12-match winning streak.
