Volleyball Rallies to Defeat East Stroudsburg, 3-2

Philadelphia, Pa. – The Holy Family University women's volleyball team came through with a 3-2 victory over East Stroudsburg University in a non-conference match Wednesday night.

Holy Family is now 14-9 overall, while East Stroudsburg falls to 8-20 on the year.

The Tigers jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead in the match after taking the first two sets. Holy Family won the first set by the score 25-20 and followed it up with a 25-13 win in set two.

However, East Stroudsburg rallied and tied the match after taking the next two sets. The Warriors held off a Holy Family comeback in set three winning the set 25-22 and took set four by the score of 25-16.

In the final set both teams battled back-and-forth exchanging points. In the end, Holy Family was on top winning the decisive set, 15-13.

Holy Family was led by sophomore Cara Przybylowicz (Ridley Park, Pa./Ridley) who finished with a team-high 15 kills, while junior Jillian Keeve (La Grange, Ill./Lyons Twp.) added 14 kills and six digs. Senior Aimee Drabyn (Avon, Ind./Avon) had 39 assists for the Tigers and finished with 10 digs. Junior Jordan Beland (Shrewsbury, Pa./Susquehannok) added a team-high 19 digs.

For East Stroudsburg, senior Alyson Stark finished with a match-high 17 kills and also had eight digs. Freshman Allye Preziosi recorded a match-best 42 assists, while fellow classmate Heather Norris picked up 15 digs. Senior Lindsay Lullo collected 20 digs for the Warriors.

Holy Family will travel to Concordia College on Saturday, Oct. 23 for a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference contest. Match time is set for 12 p.m.
