Women’s Volleyball Defeats Georgian Court, 3-1

Lakewood, N.J. - The Holy Family University women's volleyball team defeated Georgian Court University, 3-1, in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) contest Thursday night.

With the win, Holy Family improves to 11-9 overall and 10-3 in the CACC, while Georgian Court drops to 7-14 overall and 7-4 in the CACC.

Holy Family dropped a close first set by the score of 25-23, however the Tigers bounced back and won three straight sets to secure the match victory. Holy Family won set two in another close contest, 25-21, and then finished off the Lions 25-17 and 25-18 in sets three and four respectively.

Sophomore Cara Przybylowicz (Ridley Park, Pa./Ridley) finished the match with nine kills and a match-high eight service aces. Junior Jillian Keeve (La Grange, Ill./Lyons Twp.) also added nine kills to go along with four digs, while fellow classmate Jordan Beland (Shrewsbury, Pa./Susquehannock) had a team-high 17 digs. Senior Aimee Drabyn (Avon, Ind./Avon) tallied 28 assists and recorded seven digs.

For Georgian Court, sophomore Amy Berry recorded a match-high 15 kills and had three digs. Freshman Karol Oliveros had a match-high as well with 29 assists, while fellow classmate Nicole Sparks picked up a match-best 19 digs.

Holy Family is back in action 12 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 16 at Bloomfield College for a CACC contest.
