Holy Family University Athletics

Freshman Alina Nersesyan led Holy Family to a 3-0 record last week defeating its opponents by identical 9-0 scores.  The Tigers picked up non-conference victories versus St. Thomas Aquinas College and LIU Post.  The team capped the week with a key CACC victory at Georgian Court University that clinched the fourth seed in this weekends CACC Tournament.
 
Nersesyan went a combined 6-0 this past week in doubles and singles competitions, including 3-0 at first doubles with senior Juliana Victoria.  The duo recorded 8-1 victories against St. Thomas Aquinas and LIU Post and then picked up an 8-2 victory at Georgian Court.  The first doubles partners are 9-5 overall and 5-3 in CACC action this season. At number two singles, Nersesyan made quick work of her opponents as she allowed only three points in the three matches.  Against St. Thomas Aquinas' Samantha Vinci, Nersesyan won 6-1, 6-0 and posted the same score versus LIU Post's Katie Avelar.  Nersesyan finished the week with a 6-0, 6-1 win against Georgian Court's Melissa Dennis.   She was named the conference's Rookie of the Week for her performance.
