Holy Family University Athletics

Freshman Melanie Ingram was named the CACC Women's Volleyball Rookie of the Week for her performance this past week.  Holy Family (2-7) went 1-4 on the week after opening CACC action on Wednesday against cross-town rival Philadelphia University.  The Tigers fell short in five sets as the Rams held on to a 3-2 victory.  Ingram totaled 15 kills to go along with 17 digs versus Philadelphia.  She also recorded three service aces.

Holy Family then competed at the Wildcat Regional Invitational hosted by Wilmington University on Friday and Saturday. The Tigers went 1-3 at the tournament, including a 3-2 victory versus Merrimack College to open the weekend.  Holy Family fell to Stonehill College (3-2), Millersville University (3-0) and Bentley University (3-0).
 
Ingram highlighted the tournament with another 15-kill/17-dig performance versus Merrimack.  Against Stonehill, Ingram recorded another double-double with 10 kills and 15 digs.  She also tallied a season-high five service aces.
For the week, Ingram averaged 2.35 kills per set along with 3.55 digs per set.  She also finished the week with 11 service aces.
