Jeff Rotondo

Jeff Rotondo will enter his fifth season as head coach of the Holy Family women's volleyball team with the start of the 2018 season. Rotondo was named the program's fourth head coach on July 3, 2014.

The 2017 season turned out to be the best yet for Rotondo and the Tigers.  The team finished the season with 21 victories; the most since winning 25 matches in 2011.  Prior to the team's 21 wins the program had only won 20-plus matches three times in its history.  Holy Family qualified for the CACC Tournament for the 10th time overall and fifth straight.  The Tigers reached the semifinals for the first time since 2011. Holy Family had four players earn All-CACC honors and six were named to the CACC All-Academic team.

The Tigers were just as successful in the classroom as they were on the court.  Holy Family earned the AVCA Team Academic Award for the second straight season after recording a team cumulative grade-point average of 3.65 during the 2017-18 academic year.  Holy Family finished the year ranked in the top-25 in Division II for highest GPA.

In 2016, the Tigers made their ninth appearance all-time in the CACC Tournament and their fourth straight under Rotondo. The team finished the season with a 14-17 overall record and were 11-8 in conference play.  Two players earned All-CACC honors and seven were recognized as All-Academic selections.  In addition, Chase Wassel became the program’s first All-Region player with a second team selection to the CCA All-East Region squad.

In 2015 the Tigers once again finished 12-19 overall but improved their conference record to 11-8 to earn their second consecutive postseason appearance under Rotondo.

In his first year as head coach, Rotondo guided the Tigers to a 12-19 overall record and a 10-9 mark in conference play.  As a result, the Tigers qualified for the CACC Tournament as the number four seed out of the South Division.

Rotondo is no stranger to Holy Family as he served as an assistant coach during the 2011 and 2012 seasons before becoming the assistant coach at the University of Central Florida in 2013.  In his two years with the Tigers, Rotondo helped guide the program to a school record for wins in 2011 (25-11, 18-1 CACC) and the Regular Season Title.

He also created team statistical analyses, provided video breakdown of opponent's tendencies and worked specifically with the middle hitters on improving technique, footwork and explosiveness.

Last year at UCF, Rotondo provided live, in-game statistics to the bench as well as pre-match scouting packages for the coaching staff for every game played.  In addition, he was involved in Team Performance Enhancement meetings, team building and cultural activities, administrative staff meetings and match preparation responsibilities and discussions.

Prior to his first stint with Holy Family, Rotondo was the head volleyball coach at Lansdale Catholic High School (2008-2011) where he guided the team to a second place finish in the Philadelphia Catholic League (PCL) AA Division in 2009 and 2010.  He is also the Co-Director and head coach of the Infinity Volleyball Academy.

Rotondo also coached at Bensalem High School from 1996-2000.  He took over a program that won three games in 1995, and turned the team into the 11th ranked team in the state of Pennsylvania in 2000.  He was named the Bucks County Courier Times Coach of the Year in 1998 and 2000.

Prior to his time at Bensalem, Rotondo was a Player/Coach for Bucks County Community College from 1992-1993.  During those two years the team won the EPCC Championships.

Rotondo is also a member of the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) and is also an USA Volleyball Coaching Accreditation Program III Certified Coach, one of approximately 50 across the country.  In addition, he is also an USA Volleyball High Performance Coach for A2 Youth Program.  Rotondo is a Gold Medal Squared (GMS) Level II Coach.

Furthermore, Rotondo works in several capacities with the USA Volleyball High Performance Program in tryout evaluation, court couch and lead position coach.  He has also attended a coaching symposium in 2012 that is open to 100 coaches at the US Olympic Training Center.  The symposium takes place over five days in January where he learned from the best coaches in the world about the current and future trends in both on the court and off the court training.

Rotondo interned with the USA Women's National Team in Anheim, Calif. back in June of 2014.
