How It Happened
Holy Family had a 2-1 match lead heading into the fourth set after Goldey-Beacom took the third set, 25-21.  The Lightning carried the momentum into the fourth and led by as many as six points midway through the set by the score of 17-11.

Holy Family slowly began chipping away at the Goldey-Beacom lead and eventually tied the set thanks to back-to-back kills from senior Katelyn Scherber (Woodbridge, Va./Forest Park).  Her two kills made the score 21-21.  However, the Lightning responded with two straight kills from Grace McCarthy and Jada Canteen to grab the lead right back.

With the match in jeopardy of being tied at two sets apiece, Holy Family produced one more rally jumpstarted by a kill from freshman Gianna Pesognelli (Phoenix, Ariz./Pinnacle).  After an attack error by the Lightning, Pesognelli came right back with another kill to give the Tigers their first lead since an 8-7 advantage earlier in the set. With match point in set, sophomore Chase Wassel (North Wales, Pa./Lansdale Catholic) recorded the final kill to give the Tigers the set by the score of 25-23 and the match win.

Holy Family took the first two sets by identical 25-21 scores before the Lightning grabbed the third set by the same 25-21 outcome.
