How It Happened
Bloomfield took the first two sets to open up a 2-0 lead in the match.  Holy Family, needing the third set to extend the match, battled the Bears to the very end.  The Tigers opened the set scoring the first two points, but five straight points by the Bears followed as it appeared Bloomfield would be running away with the set.  As the set progressed, the Tigers quickly put away those notions and tied the score and took the lead thanks to a four-point rally.

Trailing 12-10, the Tigers unloaded back-to-back kills from sophomores Jaime Bonner (Warminster, Pa./William Tennent) and Chase Wassel (North Wales, Pa./Lansdale Catholic) before grabbing the lead thanks to a Bloomfield attack error.  Sophomore Kelly Bergen (Perkasie, Pa./Pennridge) capped the mini run with a service ace to give the Tigers a 14-12 advantage.

Holy Family extended its lead to four points after consecutive attack errors by the Bears made the score 19-15.  Bloomfield bounced back and recorded four straight points to tie the set at 19-19. The teams would trade points and the lead before the Tigers made the score 23-22 after a kill by Bonner followed by a service ace from Bergen.

The lead didn't last long as Bloomfield tallied off another pair of points to take the lead before Holy Family did the same thing to lead 25-24.  The Bears followed suit with another pair of points to take the lead right back, while Holy Family then extended the set with a kill from Bergen tying the score at 26-26.

A service error by the Tigers gave the Bears a one point lead before Bloomfield clinch the match with an ace from Nayade Paulino to cap the scoring in a thrilling 28-26 third set.
