How It Happened
Holy Family dropped the first set, 25-21, but followed with three straight wins in the next three sets to take the match.  The Tigers led majority of the second set and held a six-point advantage late in the set after a kill by senior Katelyn Scherber (Woodbridge, Va./Forest Park) made the score 23-17.  After surrendering back-to-back points, Holy Family went on to win the set, 25-19, after Pesognelli and junior Cecilia Weir (Warminster, Pa./William Tennant) capped the scoring with a kill and service ace respectively.

In the third set the Tigers won by double-digits however the Chargers kept it close early on in the set.  Dominican came within one point of the Tigers' lead at 8-7, but back-to-back points by Holy Family made some separation in the score.  Later in the set a 4-0 rally by the Tigers increased their lead to 15-9 and from there Holy Family went on to outscore Dominican, 10-6, the rest of the way to pick up the 25-15 victory.

Holy Family led the entire fourth set but allowed Dominican to come within one point of tying the set late.  Leading 19-18, the Tigers scored four unanswered points to increase their lead to 23-18.  After both teams exchanged points, Holy Family needed just one point to close out the match.  Dominican had other plans as the Chargers rallied for four consecutive points to cut the score down to 24-23.

After a Holy Family timeout, the Tigers held off the Chargers' potential come-back bid when Wassel secured the win with her final kill of the afternoon.
