Tigers Fall to Post in CACC Quarterfinals, 3-0



Waterbury, Conn. - The Holy Family University women's volleyball team saw its season come to an end after coming up short in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Quarterfinals to Post University by the score of 3-0 on Tuesday night at the Drubner Center. Post won the match by the scores of 25-20, 25-14 and 25-21.
 
Holy Family, the fourth seed out of the South Division, concludes its season at 12-19, while top-seeded Post improves to 23-9.  With the win, the Eagles advance to the CACC semifinals and will face the winner of the #3N Caldwell University/#2S Wilmington University quarterfinal match up. 
 
Senior Emma Herring (Newtown, Conn./Newtown) recorded double-digit kills for the sixth consecutive match as she led the team with a match-high 14 kills with a .636 attack percentage.  Herring committed zero errors on 22 total attacks.  Freshman Chase Wassel (North Wales, Pa./Lansdale Catholic) totaled seven kills and nine digs, while redshirt junior Erin Miller (Chandler, Ariz. /Corona del sol) added four kills.
 
Freshman Candyce Riley (Horsham, Pa./Hatboro-Horsham) led the team with 12 digs, while freshman Natalie Stewart (York, Pa./York Catholic) finished with a team-high 20 assists. 
 
For Post, Hailey Griffin and Kristine Ripson each totaled nine kills in the victory.  H. Griffin also led the team with 10 digs.  Morgan Griffin added six kills and six digs, while Brianna Root totaled a match-high 31 assists to go along with nine digs.
 
NOTES: Holy Family was appearing in the CACC Tournament for the eighth time in program history… The Tigers are now 6-8 all-time in the tournament….Senior Rachel Johnson (New Lenox, Ill./Lincoln Way West) finishes her career ranked third with 1,222 kills and seventh in digs with 1,041in program history….Johnson is also ranked fourth all-time with 194 total blocks…. Herring wraps up her career as the program's all-time leader in aces with 214… With her 14 kills tonight, she finishes her career with 996 kills, fifth most in program history.... Miller is now third on the all-time total blocks list with 199 after totaling 60 blocks this season.
