During the course of the 2017-18 academic year we'll be featuring Holy Family student-athletes in a new series called 'Getting to Know' to give fans some insight and help get to know them better as student-athletes.  Today we feature freshman Cameron Wilburn, a Secondary Education - History major and member of the men's cross country and Track & Field teams.

How did you get involved in your sport(s)?: At first I did Track when I was younger. I started at the age of 3 years old running for my town's recreation team. I also came from a family of athletes who had competed in track and field. My grandfather was an Olympic Athlete and he was my idol and he motivated me to become the best athlete I can be. In middle school I started to wanted to expand my athleticism and get stronger, so I went out for the Cross Country team and I became the top runner for the team breaking several course records. In High School I ran both Cross Country and Track, and I became a member of both Distance Varsity teams. I had dropped my times and ran faster throughout my four years at Cherokee High School. Last year my team won the South Jersey Group IV Sectional Title (2016), and the Olympic Conference Title for Cross Country(2015 and 2016). My 4x800 Relay team placed 5th at the South Jersey Group IV Sectionals (2016).

Favorite concert or sporting event you attended: I ran at the Penn Relays last year for the first time and I was the 3rd leg of my 4x400
