Zachmann Named CACC Rookie of the Week



New Haven, Conn. - Holy Family University freshman runner Katerina Zachmann (Wayne, N.J./Wayne Hills) was named the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Women's Cross Country Rookie of the Week for the week ending Sept. 5 as announced by the conference office on Tuesday afternoon.
 
In her first collegiate race, Zachmann finished second overall and first among collegiate competitors at the 16th Annual Wilmington University Invitational.  She finished the 5k-course in a time of 20:14.10.  Her time also set a school-record for fastest time in a 5k-course breaking Melissa Hale's mark by less than a second.  Hale finished the 2005 CACC Championship in a time of 20:14.95 when she finished second overall.
 
As a team, Holy Family finished the Wilmington Invitational third overall with 81 points.
 
Holy Family returns to action on Saturday, Sept. 10 as the Tigers compete in the Philadelphia Metro Classic at Belmont Plateau in Philadelphia.
