Timoney Named ECC Field Athlete of the Week

Central Islip, N.Y. - Holy Family University sophomore Jaclyn Timoney (Holland, Pa./Council Rock South) was named the East Coast Conference (ECC) Women's Field Athlete of the Week for the week ending Dec. 11 as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon.

At the Wagner College Seahawk Shootout this past Friday at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex in Staten Island, Timoney recorded two top-five finishes in the field events. She highlighted the afternoon with a third place showing in the high jump in which she broke her own school record with a height of 4'11" (1.50m). In the season opener last week at the Metro Holiday Opener she tied her previous mark with a 4'9" (1.45m) showing.

Timoney also competed in the triple jump and finished fifth overall as she recorded a season-best distance of 35' 1.25" (10.70m).

Holy Family will be on a hiatus until after the New Year and will resume competition when the team takes part in the Spartan Invitational hosted by St. Thomas Aquinas College on Jan. 13, 2017 at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex.
