Nelson Selected to ECC Weekly Honor Roll

Central Islip, N.Y. - Holy Family University freshman Tarin Nelson (North Haledon, N.J./Passaic County Technical Institute) was named to the East Coast Conference (ECC) Men's Track & Field Weekly Honor Roll for the week ending Dec. 11 as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon.

At the Wagner College Seahawk Shootout held at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex in Staten Island last Friday, Nelson highlighted the afternoon with a record-breaking performance in the one-mile run. He finished the event fourth overall in a time of 4:30.40 to set a new program standard by breaking John Hill's previous record of 4:32.80 set in 2011.

Nelson also took part in the 600-meters and finished seventh overall in a time of 1:24.87.

Holy Family will be on a hiatus until after the New Year and will resume competition when the team takes part in the Spartan Invitational hosted by St. Thomas Aquinas College on Jan. 13, 2017 at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex.
