Hudson-Emory Named CACC Player of the Week



New Haven, Conn. - Holy Family University junior Dyllon Hudson-Emory (Harrisburg, Pa./Bishop McDevitt) was named the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Men's Basketball Player of the Week for the week ending Nov. 20 as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon.  In addition, freshman Randy Bell (Sicklerville, N.J./Timber Creek) was selected to the CACC Weekly Honor Roll.
 
Holy Family (1-3, 0-0 CACC) went 1-1 this past week versus non-conference opponents.  The Tigers came up short versus nationally ranked No. 8 Saint Thomas Aquinas College on Wednesday (L, 90-74) but bounced back and won their first game of the season with an 87-77 victory against Queens College.  The marked the 100th of head coach R.C. Kehoe's career.
 
Hudson-Emory averaged 33 points per game in the two victories.  Against the Spartans, he totaled a season-high 33 points while collecting 12 rebounds to record his first double-double of the season.  He also finished with five assists and a season-high four steals.  Hudson-Emory followed that up with another 33-point performance versus Queens on 13-of-23 shooting.  He added eight rebounds, three assists and two steals to his offensive production.
 
In four games this season, Hudson-Emory has scored 30-plus points in three of them and is averaging 28.3 points per game while averaging 7.5 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game. 
 
A week after being named the CACC Rookie of the Week, Bell followed up with 23 points versus Saint Thomas Aquinas.  Against the Knights, Bell came through with 15 points while dishing out a season-high seven assists.  In the two games Bell averaged 19.0 points per game to go along with 4.5 assists per contest.
 
Bell is currently averaging 24.8 points per game as well as 3.8 assists per game. 
 
Holy Family is back in action on Tuesday, Nov. 22 as the Tigers open conference play at Georgian Court University.  Game time is slated for 8 p.m. in Lakewood, N.J.
