Bell Named CACC Rookie of the Week

New Haven, Conn. - Holy Family University freshman Randy Bell (Sicklerville, N.J./Timber Creek) was named the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Men's Basketball Rookie of the Week for the week ending Nov. 13 as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon.

Bell made quite the impression in his first two collegiate games. He averaged 30.5 points per game after recording back-to-back 30-point performances. Against nationally ranked No. 4 Southern Connecticut State University, Bell scored a game-high 31 points while converting 9-of-14 from the free throw line. He also dished out five assists and grabbed three rebounds.

Bell followed that up with a 30-point showing against American International the following day. He shot 10-of-19 from the field and was 5-of-11 from deep range.

In the two games at the Conference Crossover Classic hosted by the University of Bridgeport, Bell totaled 61 points, while shooting 45.2-percent (19-42) from the field. He also totaled six assists and three steals.

Holy Family (0-2, 0-0 CACC) returns to action on Wednesday, Nov. 16 as the Tigers host St. Thomas Aquinas College in a non-conference contest. Game time is slated for 7 p.m. inside the Campus Center Gymnasium.
