Beck Selected CACC Rookie of the Week

New Haven, Conn. - Holy Family University freshman Sophie Beck (Karlsruhe, Germany/Heisenberg-Gymnasium) was named the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Women's Tennis Rookie of the Week for the week ending Oct. 2 as announced by the conference office on Tuesday afternoon. This marks the second time this season that Beck has garnered Rookie of the Week honors with the previous coming in the week ending Sept. 5.

Holy Family hosted Millersville University in a non-conference contest last week and came away with a 9-0 victory in its lone match of the week. Beck had a perfect afternoon as she won her second singles match versus Jessica Soullaird in straight sets, 6-0, 6-0. Beck also teamed up with senior Anastasiya Kolodiy (Lviv, Ukraine) at first doubles and defeated Soullaird and Sarah Sambrick, 8-0.

Through eight matches this season, Beck is 5-3 at second singles, including a 2-2 mark in conference action. She is also 5-3 at first doubles with Kolodiy.

Holy Family (5-3, 1-3 CACC) is at Philadelphia University later this afternoon for a key CACC contest. Match time is slated for 3 p.m.
