Wassel Named CACC Co-Player of the Week

New Haven, Conn. - Holy Family University sophomore Chase Wassel (North Wales, Pa./Lansdale Catholic) was named the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Women's Volleyball Co-Player of the Week for the week ending Oct. 23 as announced by the conference office on Tuesday morning. Wassel shares this week's honor with Goldey-Beacom College's Lindsay Przywara.

In a 1-1 week against conference opponents, Wassel averaged an impressive 6.28 kills per set while hitting nearly .250-percent on the attack. She also averaged 3.71 digs per set on defense.

Wassel highlighted the week with a 26-kill performance in the 3-1 victory versus Chestnut Hill College on Wednesday. She had an attack percentage of .234 and recorded 13 digs. She followed that up with 18 kills in the 3-0 setback at Caldwell University on Saturday. She came through with a .255 attack percentage while picking up another 13 digs.

In 23 matches this season, Wassel is averaging 4.86 kills and 3.81 digs per set. She also has totaled 27 service aces and 39 total blocks (7BS/32BA).

Holy Family (11-12, 8-5 CACC) is back in action tonight as the Tigers host the University of the Sciences in a CACC South Division contest. Match time is slated for 6 p.m. inside the Campus Center Gymnasium.
