New Haven, Conn. - Holy Family University had 15 student-athletes named to the 2012 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Fall All-Academic team as announced by the conference office. A total of 170 student-athletes from the 14 conference institutions have earned a spot on the team this year.
In order to be named to the CACC All-Academic team, recipients must have participated in a CACC Championship sport in the fall. They must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, have been a student-athlete at their current institution for at least two semesters and achieve a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher through the fall semester.
A total of 31 student-athletes earned All-Academic honors for the third time, including four from Holy Family. Those student-athletes include, seniors
Melissa Benson (Rockledge, Pa./Little Flower) (women's soccer),
Kathryn Helkowski (Levittown, Pa./Conwell Egan) (women's soccer),
Katie Maguire (Philadelphia, Pa./Saint Huberts) (women's soccer) and
Patrick Monteith (Philadelphia, Pa/LaSalle) (men's cross country).
In addition 61 student-athletes are receiving All-Academic accolades for the second time as Holy Family featured ten student-athletes with repeat appearances. Those student-athletes include, junior

Furthermore, Holy Family sophomore
Samantha McCusker (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Carroll) was among 77 student-athletes earning all-academic honors for the first time in their careers.
