Philadelphia, Pa. - The Holy Family University women's tennis team dropped a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) contest to Chestnut Hill College by the score of 7-0 Wednesday afternoon.
Holy Family is now 6-5 overall and 4-3 in conference play, while Chestnut Hill improves to 8-2 overall and 6-2 in CACC action.
Chestnut Hill took all three doubles competitions to take an early 3-0-match lead. In third doubles, sophomore
Casey Borish (Philadelphia, Pa./Nazareth Academy) and freshman
Jacqueline Clyne (West Islip, N.Y./) came up short after a hard-fought battle with Chestnut Hill's Axe Owens and Ima Williams-Mulesa. The Griffins came away with a 9-7 win in the flight.
In singles action, Chestnut Hill were victories at second, third, fourth and fifth singles to clinch the match. First and sixth singles were called and unfinished due to darkness.
Holy Family is back in action on Wednesday, Oct. 10 as the Tigers host Saint Thomas Aquinas College in a non-conference contest. Match time is slated for 3:30 p.m.
